It seems an absolute age since the glut use of cfl's (we used so since the 70's (man),
I was.wondering who.was doggedly working through their stocks still, ..I have some in the garage still, & as emergency bulbs.
Suspect there's a few of us!

Re: SO those A+ rated Philips Hue bulbs are now F or G !?
well , again , i use light-bulbs until they die and switch the light on when i need light and off when not !
This is probably more important, than having a philosophical doctoral thesis about lightbulbs in relation to, if they need 2-5 watt more than others
Light , i think we need in the darkest hours , and for sure it is an historical interesting story to start from no light , to lighting a fire in caves to Edison light bulbs to CFL to LED ...
well i guess its a parallel story to the "Limits to Growth" and i assume the light bulb discussion is kind-off grotesque to argue now about 1 watt more or less for a light that i switch on on demand and off again
Put that into relation to stand-by need of all our consumer electronics in each household
In Germany , studies show, that only stand by usage is consuming as much as 2 middle sized Nuclear power plants produce
So kids , please turn off the lights when you not need it , unplug your electronics , shut the door , cause it is freezing , ....
The light is not the problem of our society

Not really a doctoral thesis billi, ..simply to bludgeon some common sense in a contextual manner to the often dumb public, who, lets face it are very into the faster, shinier, newer ,,replacement of perfectly good pre-existing product they are already in possession of.
No more than data for product chewed & eschewed on this & (an)other forum over the years.
