Glad they seem on the ball at least in getting the mini digger out.

More than a few years ago i was trying to commision a big new Worcester boiler in a house, just couldnt get the quantity of gas through to keep it stable with it modulating up and down all the time, despite brand new 35mm gas feed all the way to it.
Called out NG in the end as suspected fault in regulator. Guy arrived within the hour and tweeked it as best he could - better but still no joy.
NG ended up having to rip out the whole front garden as emergency works, walls, steps, drive surface, couple of trees and all, was a right pig for them and must have cost thousands.
Problem was inadequate rusty old 3/4" underground galv supply, ran the old defunt boiler fine though.

Only good thing about the whole experience is the speed in which they attend such problems - classed as emergency incase propertys have old fashioned equipment that could leave gas flowing leading to buildup and boom.

Glad you've got to the bottom of it.

Yes all working out in the end, 4 guys on site today ( 2 hand digging) and doing the supply side and 2 doing the copper inside the house.

Had to remove the gas meter from inside the house and now have semi recessed version. Not ideal but best option available
