Just a warning before you try to buy a flir product.
Dont buy second hand, the compàny dont give a damn & "carlos" from columbia who got told where he could stick his flir / teledyne company product.
Basically, after a 14 minute wait, i rang in again call got picked up straight away (crap telephony queuing system then)!!! ..IF / when your second hand unit from ebay needs a spare, it will have to go to their service dept, under the details of the originql purchaser, so down the line non serviceable and refused to be handled by FLIR who want ALLthe money.
i'd found & was watching a flir that needed a replacement button, current model.
Can i get a spare? ...can i hell.
Not the first time ive run into problems with flirs people, plenty of marketing, eff all substance.
That deal you found? ..its not!
Buy second hand be prepared to have the service dept door slammed in your face.

Might well be that the part you want is an off-the-shelf component, with just a FLIR produced cap to operate the actual button. Lots of equipment is designed like this now, with off-the-shelf buttons soldered to the circuit board, with just the fancy branded bit being a bit of shaped plastic that pushes the actual switch part.
Might even be a reasonably viable DIY repair. Any chance of a photo of the damaged part, might be able to guess whether it could be DIY repaired?

A bit of blutack & a bodge would do it easily OGB.
My point though...
Flir, european & american company (swedish roots) ..not allowing repair of goods is fundamentally wrong, far from green in terms of repair & re-use values creating landfill through this practise.
likely against right to repair / european ideals / legal governance ..not that flir give a sh1t.
Means that the whole second hand market is a travesty, & that ebay etc ough thave instruction to ban sales of this kit because it cannot be supported, or at least a thick notice band on screen that says your second hand unit will not be maintained nor serviced.
it should affect second hand values & reputation, but humans have short memories (esp me)
When i rang flir years ago re new product (phone + flir) they were just as shit & deemed "non serviceable"
Thus the title.

Get in contact with a local specialist distributor not FLIR themselves, FLIR handle lots of end user servicing at these distributors so you'll have better luck with them for minor repairs.

NB, i used to repair audio product,as well as troubleshoot & test prototypes, we fixed cheaply & conscientiously, if we thought labour & parts were for whatever reason OTT we used to cut them where possible, it meant good comms, grateful customers, audiophiles & budget buyers alike, industry awards, happy sales people who knew we had their backs, ...& lots of repeat custom. our company was pretty profitable, our service
& whilst we'd prefer to fix "properly" in house would make exceptions & sell spares direct to people we deemed competent or happy to take a chance & learn, ..which is why I find flirs approach appalling given the cost of their goods & potential re-purposing via second, third & maybe beyond sales which easily lead to wider brand recommendation & increased sales for being rock-steady & investment worthy.
in these times economic strife or otherwise a brand that locks you out of repair possibility.
if we scaled it up how would it be not supplying replacement components ever to someone who had bought a car second hand?
(some flir can cost a few grand second hand too)
