Adjustments to the design required admittedly, but now looking at it as an opportunity to upgrade wattage and inverters as well as gale proofing the mount.

Shame about the one panel as I hate waste but out of the ashes and all that 😀

Nae good, turn away from the wreckage Moxi. :(

We have 8 degs here, almost zero PV generation (sub 100W) and quite happily the dehumids are pulling all season low of 1.2ltrs in the last 24 hrs.

For comparison, when we commenced dehumidifiers for Winter 23 we were pulling 4 ltrs per day. Wouldn't have known there was an issue. Yet there it was slowly building. :(

All the best when you get into it Moxi.

Cheers JB

There will be pictures eventually of the return of my DIY south ground mount.

In the mean time I am sat minding the kids tending the WBS and working through designs in my head for the MkII 80mph + Gale proof ground mount.

You canna keep a stubborn Yorkshireman down!

Ref. " Could be worse JB, my mobile array became very mobile and accelerated in an 80mph gust up the side of the house through the bin store out the other side before smashing into the porch wall and bending itself all out of shape. One 275wp panel survived the other is all grazed and bound for the junk pile.

I think the days of mobility for panels up here are numbered. We seem to be getting more and more frequent gales and it’s feeling like anything at ground level needs about half a tonne of ballast to keep it safe, my 150wp panel has been face down about six times in two weeks and that’s got 60 kg of ballast.

Moxi "

Not Good to hear about mobile array moving.

It did assist me in going out in the rain today and checking things that were on the Tooo Dooo list here.
I Dooo need a change of plan. Got Sooo many panels I never seem Tooo finish the ongoing job before starting the next job.
Better brackets for some frames were started today. :praise:

I'd almost forgotten we had this capability. :whako:

3/4 of a kW in-between the raindrops!

This is a fleeting moment, no doubt. Yet the house was running on its own there, no grid & our own heat. Might see only half an hour but its doing it in December. :)

Battery soc was 66% at 07.55hrs and at 11.55hrs it is at....66%! :)

I genuinely thought I was stuck until Feb, this is a nice wee pre Christmas present. Cheers Ra! :praise:

I have to keep reminding myself that we are still in January. What with the extra wee bit of solar each day (fingers crossed) and lowering SH charging we are now down to around 45kWh buy from the grid overnight down from an average of 80kWh per 24hrs across the last couple of months.

This count is inclusive of everything we run apart from EV. Add that in and the average is harder to pin down. I am pretty happy with this. We are also using significantly less fuel in WBS through a day cycle and have actually felt some solar gain in the big South facing room 8-)
