I have a combi with a built in 60 litre( I think) tank so it’s never going to empty.

Hot water is the last extravagance to be honest..

Pretty sure I've peaked for the Season. Oct Octopus bill paid and £50 into the VB. That gives me a starting VB soc of 68.3%

Cheers Ripple!

I note the above so I can track the ebb & flow of GF's impact.

Its official, a starting charge of 66.4% in the VB. :D In the handful of days home we are taking a charge of around 1% from the VB per day to charge car, avoid gas use and run home (some deal eh) ;) .

If there were no further inflows to the VB we'd flatten it by around 15th Jan 2024 at this rate.

Luckily that's not the case.

I am fascinated that we can be so closely linked to the ebb & flow of the wind patterns in South Wales. :ugeek:

So thats 25 people having a shower each day !!!
If only! My two girls could flatten a 210ltr hwt cylinder between them in the morning. I tried hard over the years to get them to reduce this but they instinctively ganged up on me.

There has been microscopic improvements over the years which they are both inordinately proud of. Yes, its a lost cause. :D
There is no hope. I wish you had not told me that its waste on that scale really upsets me.

Ah well, cleanliness is integral to their being and it sets them up for the day in a positive fashion. They then go out and kill the days challenges in a top frame of mind. I don't see the wasteful side just the expense but you shouldn't let it upset you.

On the flipside the hwt is powered by solar for 7 months of the year and heated from the grid in the middle of the night when not. Swings and roundabouts. :D

The hwt is the last bastion of unencumbered luxury that we allow ✨️

Today's hedge against :winter: has been making a gallon of lentil & bacon soup on the WBS. SWMBO was angling for a taste so Mr Men cups came out!

No1 has a bowl for tomorrow at work, we'll have lunch, some frozen and some up to SWMBO's Mum. Not bad for £1.60.
