Noticed a bit more spare roof space up there though buddy.
I'll get my coat

Some genuine joinery going on there. I didn’t think anyone who knew how to cut a tenon was still alive!pudding wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 10:44 am Any tips, hmm, make it square! Mine is a trapezoid shape in order to fit in between the garage and house, so the only level timber is the big beam across the front, every other timber is a different slope and different length, no 2 were the same as they are sloping across the trapezoid and none parallel/perpendicular with that front beam! Every timber rafter was lifted and offered into position in order to measure every cut, birdsmouth notch etc, so a square/rectangle will make things a lot easier.
Get help too, I did it along pretty much, apart from a friend help lift up the front posts/beam frame I put together on the ground and it was too heavy to lift up on my own.
All posts are on metal feet so no timber is on/in the ground, so hopefully they'll be no issues with rotting timber in the future, or for a long time! Rear posts in these - https://tradefixdirect.com/p/simpson-co ... 1MdfEkXSKS, and front 150mm posts on these - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223279339831

At least you won't have to worry about the sulphur heart ivy getting affected by the cold air from the heat pump!
That was my thought today when I went at it with the electric chainsaw. Fence sections were cut out and laid to one side for potential use later in the project.
