Wow, I didn't realise it had such a wide range of applications, I remember sticking some floor tiles down on a timber sub floor, with SBR primer and admix in the cement , one got cracked somehow It was a nightmare to get it all up, the bond was amazing.

So 1:1:5 (sbr:water:cement)?
How many coats?
Is it ok to go straight up the wall to the dpc?

I’m. It sure what you are applying to to be honest, as I’m on a phone and don’t have a great screen.

Thinner coats alternative directions would be best to ensure complete coverage with no missing points

Wondering whether to lash a coat or two of black jack over it?

Looks like a good job. I don't see how slapping black jack over it will make any difference unless you really want to...
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Was thinking it was a bit overkill but while all the soil/stones/blocks are up.... Can't do any harm I suppose. See how the slurry looks after it dries tomorrow.

I've also got quite a bit of visqueen in the shed might cut a strip and lay that down before I put everything back.

To be honest, and it’s not coming from anything technical, while I had everything exposed and I’d got the stuff in the shed, I’d slap it on.

If, for nothing else, avoiding the ‘I wish I’d tried that when I had the opportunity’ moment.

From the pics, you’ve done a cracking job :xl:

Looking good, I would let that thoroughly dry out then flick some water on it from a brush, if it looks in the least absorbent I would give it a couple of blackjacks. As BTB says you have done the hard work opening it all up, don't risk doing it twice. I was looking at some old damp remediation jobs we've done, never had SBR slurry specified, rather always some kind of bituminous gloop/bituthene, but new products come on the market all the time, so I could be out of date.

Anyway good luck.

Cheers Bugtownboy and Desp... :xl:

Thank god I found the knee pads before finishing today as I had had enough of arthritic knees kneeling on little stones! :o

Has anyone ever used black jack or equivalent? What is the finish like once dry (will it ever completely dry or stay tacky)?

I was going to paint up to the dpc black anyways, get away it or have to paint over it?

Can you paint over black jack?
