How best to baffle a bathroom extractor?

When I renovated our bathroom, I installed an extractor fan through the wall. In hindsight, an inline fan thought the ceiling and out of the roof would have been better but it's in now. The problem is that it's on a south facing wall and our weather is mainly southwesterlies blowing in. The exterior plate is just a set of louvres and the wind comes in and the baffle plate in the vent tube flaps and bangs around enough to wake us so I've taped over the inside face of the fan and don't use it much. Not a problem in the summer as we just open the window but I'd like to be able to run it during the winter when we don't open the window.

Are there any ways to better baffle the exterior while preventing cold air blowing in when not in use?

Whats the exterior louvered pipe profile ? square or round and what size ?

We have a similar issue with the cooker extract with wind ingress but happily no noise.

Immediate Ideas are a ninety degree elbow of the right profile to exit downwards this will eliminate wind from any direction except upwards. the alternate is the old flat plate placed over the exit offset from the wall sufficient to let the louvers open but not so far that the wind can get in.

As above, though perhaps this is the time for someone with a 3D printer to see if a mini H pot will do any better?
Our extractor fan exit is standard, if anyone was in the bedroom it exits, ...well yes, similar vexation.

Thanks very much. I'll be fitting the new cowl this weekend and see how that goes, if it's still not quite right, I'll swap out the fan for that one with the closure, which looks very neat.
