I just bought one of the two Sofar ME 3000 SP battery inverters this chap is selling - and they seem to have the mounting bracket!

I made an offer of £230 which was swiftly accepted. I'm collecting mine tomorrow (Thursday) evening. The seller isn't shipping.

If you're on or near the south coast and want to purchase the other, I am happy to collect and get it a little closer to you to save you having to go to London.

One sold on ebay last night for about £45- hadn’t realised it was such a short auction and missed bidding!

I’ve been looking for one of these. Not found one for less than about £300 though.

Shall we delete this topic and create new ones when possible bargains appear?

Fun' n ' games in Nowty Towers today with SimonSays and the two ME3000SP units he collected.

One was fine , but the other appeared totally bricked.

On opening up the unit it appeared that the internal negative DC cable to the PCB had completely burned out, looked like a faulty crimp connection.

Initially we thought the board was burned out too but it was just cosmetic and we got it temporarily working with the help a bodged fuse and crocodile clips. I volunteered to take the bricked unit and several hours later I had upgraded the 10mm cable to 16mm and rewound the choke. :xx:

Both units had very low running hours so it all ended well for the low prices.

This pic really for Simonsays as he will understand the fix.

A quick full load test , plugged into a mains socket.

And for SimonSays, after you left I was still pondering why your unit kept going into standby. It was because I upgraded the firmware, so it would have defaulted back to auto mode from timed mode. And because we had no CT clamps on it it, normal for it to stay in standby.
