Wanted: Battery spot welder

Asking here before I order a new one, if anyone has a completed project for a battery pack & it is gathering dust please let me know asap as I'm making up an 18650 batt pack for general purpose (lightweight duties) via a really awful ali express package that is sub-par ali-express "filth" sold descriptively as one thing, reality upon delivery being another 🤔

Let me know which unit you have & how much inc postage if anyone is finished with theirs.
Cheers

Mr Gus, did you end up picking a new spot welder?
I'm planning to build up a new battery pack pair for the ebikes, so will be needing to order one on the next few weeks.

Nope, not yet, the service from the last seller left me filled with so much hate for the scammer shop vendor I had to walk away.

What sort of money do they go for Gus? I've got a multi level electronic shops over here in Marmaris. I can check availability and price if you want in the next week. Not saying they'll have it but maybe... A link to the preferred unit is....preferred.

Sadly no, nor a Maplin. Although they are a veritable Aladdins cave of an independent electronic store. No1 & I were in there today for a car usb plug in cig lighter to power the sat nav and a few gu10 led bulbs. Will be back over there in New Year.

I’m going to tread lightly here as I’m not familiar with the precise requirements but I have seen a lot of home made battery and general spot welders on ooh tube made from the illustrious old microwave transformer and bits. Is this a potential solution for Mr Gus or is it like many things on ooh tube just click bait ?

cheers joe, i'll dig a few of the listings out, seller I got a battery box from was such an arsehole thatI gave up even putting in a claim, I wanted the faecal matter off my shoe, as it were!

They are diddy pocket size units for this level of use compared with the bigguns a few years back aimed at doing potentially thousands of welds.
👍

I didn’t know Maplin went into administration at the time, and walked in to the Dundee branch and they were selling everything

I spent £300 on baskets( they even gave me them) of stuff, semiconductors, passive components, connectors, cables etc.

Once the garage is complete the electronics workbench will look not to shabby!
