Just wondering what the insurance is like on this scale of wind turbine ?
Whilst few fail catastrophically, some do, (inevitably) curious as to the whole, if it go's bang under ripple what the community outcome is?

I am so very proud to be a part of this! 🙂

Graig Fatha Turbine Week 2 - We have lift off

12/3/2021
After a phenomenal effort from everyone down on site yesterday, we're incredibly excited to share that late last night the blades were lifted into position. All three blades are now attached to the turbine.

We'll be sharing more photos and videos over the coming days but, for now, we just want to say thank you. Without the 907 Graig Fatha members none of this would have been possible. This is a huge day for us at Ripple and we hope you're as excited as we are.

Well, its been a long haul since I first made my first payment, around 18 months, with several times of severe doubts that it was not going to happen, mainly due to the long drawn out process of finding all the funding.

But here we are, maybe there will be a bit more delay to getting the leccy cables connected, but no matter, the main construction risk is now over.

Time to sit back and enjoy the low carbon leccy for probably the remaining majority of my life.

Big  and looking forward to the  and :cake:

That 1st picture is astonishing, what an engineering feat. I reckon ive got another 30+ left in me so hoping WT1 & WT2 ad infinitum are open to me. I'll just keep going along and buying little bits. I shall bring my Bongo and Poncho for the party. :D

About a fortninght, the Tee shirts are a comfortably soft material and the hoodies really cosy, especially this time of year.
Wouldn't want to be without mine come the open day.

My son Martin has just reserved himself 900 Watts of WT2. A proud Dad moment indeed. :D

Nice one Joeboy. You've now got me thinking about what size of stake to plump for in WT2. Have to confess to being a little confused as Ripple talk about how much leccy we consume to base our share upon with up to 120% which seems perfectly fair to me given that its a co-operative and we should include as many as possible who might wish to join. Graig Fatha will cover around 90% of our energy imports, so based on that then we may be limited to another 30%. Having PV, then import and consumption return different figures, while we consume approx 9MW annually, imports amount to about half this figure.
So, should I base my figure on consumption as Ripple suggest or Import?
