And "Us lot" with solar and batteries still want big inflexible power plants to keep overnight electricity cheap so we can charge them cheap in Winter!
UK Wind + Interconnectors = Net Zero?
Re: UK Wind + Interconnectors = Net Zero?
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated
6 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Thanks - wondered how they actually achieved the load following - what a waste of energy!

Not sure if this is the right place to post but thought it might be pertinent!
The notification arrived in my inbox this evening from the Greenprint forum along with a mix of other announcements so it seems very timely with the governments announcement it's presumably been in the planning for some time. Couldn't find what capacity is being considered perhaps that will be revealed at the webinar!
Surely gotta be better than erecting more pylons through East Anglian country side!

Re: UK Wind + Interconnectors = Net Zero?
Oh that's interesting, thank you!
Seems like another high capacity HVDC transmission line to shunt "excess" power from rural Suffolk (where not only will Sizewell C be built, but also all of those new off-shore wind farms will connect to the UK Grid) down to energy hungry London and SE, and also out into Europe via the multiple interconnectors we have there too?
This is in addition to the "Eastern HVDC Link" which is already proposed to bring more Scottish wind power down into England, on the East Coast, to supplement the existing Western Bootstrap HVDC which is operating, but is already at capacity.
