Europe now has 32GW of offshore wind

#1

Post by dan_b »

Saw this today - 32GW of actual installed offshore wind farm capacity across Europe now, with 2.1GW added in the first half of 2023.
How much of this is UK Offshore vs rest of Europe (I'm assuming we're still included in those stats by dint of geography rather than excluded by dint of politics!)

Funnily enough, I did go to Specsavers about 18months ago and ended up with varifocals for the first time. Getting old!

But is that refering to the additions already made this year rather that the total? and which does dan ask about?

It would seem odd if the article included the UK for the installed capacity in 2023 but not for the total capacity.
But as the UK had 10.4GW out of a total of 25.2GW early 2022 I expect the article includes the UK.
