Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?

So the first batch of the DW solar panels are now mounted on their frames, with a gold standard array checked and available for comparison when completing the rest.



The sequence of works as described by Ripple is to complete construction followed by energisation and commissioning. I would have thought this could be done on a field by field basis rather than waiting for all construction to be finished, unless of course the MV switchgear and LV distribution is not ready yet.

Does anyone remember if the previous wind turbines were all commissioned at the end, or brought online sequentially?

All the wind turbines were fully built prior to energising and commissioning, they were brought online individually, but it was in the last phase over a couple of weeks.

Yikes, I've just realised I have not published October's capacity factor graphs.

I'm expecting November's graph's to be a shocker I'm afraid, maybe down 50% on baseline, its the Dunkelflaute.

On the positive side, year ahead wholesale prices are holding up just under 9p / kWh and next years PPA for KH will soon be agreed (if not already) and the negative 1.1p / kWh adjustment to KH should be lifted for Decembers generation subject to exceeding the P90 value which is almost a cert.

For Oct, almost a third down on baseline at GF, no technical issues, just lower wind resource.



On the plus side, KH only slightly down on baseline.

Windy up here - we should build a wind turbine behind my cottage ! Woke up the 50 ish mph gusts around 4 am and the recycling bins being repositioned in a pile against the battery shed.

Both the bin store and the southern arrays are holding their own and the gabion basket anchors seem to be up to the task, apparently around 36 hours of gusting winds so an in depth stress test for my assembly and calculation capabilities.

This might be a really stupid question - but can I just check if everyone who has invested in Kirkhill should get the same saving rate? Mine is currently 3.2p per KWh

If everyone does not get the same saving rate then what affects the savings rate.

The ones supplied via Eon are getting 4.9p.

It depends on the date when Ripple agrees the PPA with each power supplier.

Unfortunately, the agreement with Octopus was when wholesale prices hit their low in Feb this year at circa 6p.

Then when the other supplier came on board the wholesale price was about 8p.

From Jan, both suppliers are going to have their PPA dates synchronised but there might still be small differences if one supplier values the power slightly differently. I.e. each one may have a different hedging strategy.

Wholesale prices (average year ahead) are now around 9p so expect payments from Jan of around 6p to 7p per kWh.

I am feeling a truly joyful loosening of the chest right now. Parted ways with Ripple. Co-ops of their style & communication are just not for me. Knew it the past two years and hoped they'd grow to pro. If you've put your name down on the GF or KH waiting list and you're into them you might get some good news soon.

I've made about £1,200 on a whatever return since GF first cranked. I couldn't stand the "Hi, we're all so 21st Century lovely" public persona with the juxtaposition of disappearing critical posts on the community pages and Nazification of same.
