I've also added my £25 reservation fee to the new Ripple wind farm - it's in Scotland so good geographical separation and although my share of Graig Fatha is already close to 120% I think using the EV over a winter when we aren't locked down (hopefully) will increase our consumption.

I've also put a bit into the Lochaber Hydro scheme - aware of the risk of FiT payments but hope they will deliver on time.

I'm in 2. :) For co-op2. A snazzy name!

I'll say this though, they are behind already. Still on 'Site prep' whereas their own timeline states digging founds In Aug. Well that didn't happen!

Inskip75, how do you know the second one is in Scotland ?

I cannot find any info on it.

I had online chat last night with Sarah - I asked about location because if it was the next door turbine I wasn't going to bother but Sarah said it was Scotland so good separation for windy conditions.

Excellent.

NE Scotland would probably be the best compliment, but I'll take anywhere in Scotland and I agree, one next door would be the worst location for generation diversity.

After a bit of digging, I notice CleanEarthEnergy (who are building RT1) have recent planning permission for a 4.3MW single turbine in Aberdeenshire near Arnold, Huntly at AB54 4UB.

A limited company was set up in 2018 under the name of CE MEIKLETON TURBINE LTD, the planning permission was initially refused but they persevered.

Might not be it, but ticks my boxes if it is.

That's about 20 minutes from my house. A LOT of turbines in that area all the way down to Glens of Foundland. Excellent! I shall geek out accordingly and provide many photos when they begin. :)

Outstanding Sleuthing guys!

If it turns out to be that one, you will probably have the actual elections from it flowing through your house, batteries and EV. :o
