Ripple never raised enough money to secure the rights to build it in a timely manor and Thrive Energy moved in and bought the rights to WB months ago. Then Ripple tried to do a deal where the WB Coop would become a minority investor but the deal was not agreed before they went into administration.AE-NMidlands wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 3:18 pm which says:Presumably Ripple's administrators have sold it as quickly as they can, and / or Thrive have been watching the story as it has unfolded. I'm not in this one, but I have lost money in Ripple/Seedrs. Grrr!we’re thrilled to have acquired the rights to build the 57MW Whitelaw Brae wind farm in the Scottish Borders.
As well as being our largest project to date, the deal marks another major step in our ambitious growth plans to double generation capacity within the next five years. It is the second project to be funded by Fair Play Clean Energy Ltd, Thrive’s joint venture with TopCashback Sustainability, which brings together a combined £80 million in capital to fund new clean energy projects in the UK.
Construction of Whitelaw Brae is expected to start in 2025, with commissioning planned by the end of 2026.
