So, do we think we are getting some further info on Project 3 as promised this week which effectively means tomorrow.

I reckon its 50:50. :geek:

Fingers crossed, it was from Ripple not community guesswork so hopefully by tomorrow.

I wonder how many tonnes of concrete went into that pour yesterday?

We did some rough calculations on GF WT1 back in 2021 and came out with 1000 tonnes.

'The wait is almost over. We're nearly ready to announce details of our third project: our first ever shared solar park.

In order to prepare our site for the share offer launch, we will be closing reservations on Friday 14th April at 12 noon. After this time no further reservations will be possible.

Over 20,000 people have now reserved their place in this project. We have you on the list as having made a reservation for this project. If you know someone who intends to make a reservation please ensure they take action in advance of this deadline. Maybe it's someone who you have sent your referral code to, or gifted a voucher. Reach out and share this deadline with them to avoid disappointment.

After Easter we'll send you another email announcing all the key launch dates you'll need to know, including the date of the project location reveal and the date for our webinar where you can hear project details from the Ripple directors themselves.'

Simples,

Its an announcement that there will be another announcement some time in the future, when they will publish a date even later into the future, when there will be another announcement of the location. :?

To a newbie who has parted with £25 last year, it smells horrible.

Yep. We at least know that it will show up going on our WT1 experience. All those folk who are new to this...a shame for them.

If it's any consolation I've just been watching an investors webinar on GRID's financial returns for the current year. Delighted to learn how well they've performed to date and the planned rollout of further storage in the coming months. From the QA session following it was revealed that most project delays are due to grid connection completion rather than anything elsewhere!

Regarding grid connections,

Sods law says wind farms get their connection in spring at the end of the winter blow in time for the summer lull. :?

Consequently the solar farm will get its grid connection in autumn at the end of the summer bake in time for the winter dross.

Ripple say there are 20,000 registered for project 3.

The average investment per person for GF was £2.3k and I think it was similar for KH.

So thats 20000 x £2.3k = £46m

Which is similar to the cost of a 49.9MW solar farm which seems to be a popular size, I think because of planning and grid connections.

So the delay could simply be they had to wait until they had 20,000 folk putting a reservation fee down to make it more likely of a successful fund raiser. It could also be they need sunny weather to launch it, as could be a harder sell over the winter months.

They put the savings payback from 2025 in their calculator which suggests the solar farm wont be built till next year. I note one 49.9MW Solar farm got the go ahead in Jan this year but construction is not starting till 2024. I am not suggesting for one moment that its this one as there have been a few that have been approved recently. But it gives you the idea of the timescales.
