That would be an excellent out come if they can get the hardware up before November when the working daylight starts to diminish noticeably.

I hope GF is still churning away at full tilt this morning? we certainly have plenty of fresh breeze up here on the North West coast so I am hopeful its similar weather down the south of the country.

Aye, she's doing fine. 14.6rpm is about peak. Maybe a smidge more. That w/s is m/s.

Ripple has been surveying prospective folk who have registered for project 4 whether they would be interested in a large solar farm with a switch on date of Jan 2026.

The spin is it would be financed with a large amount of debt and £1000 would generate circa 2900 kWh per year so that would suggest around two thirds debt which would be bit of a stretch in my opinion.

They also say its a third of the cost of DW [inferred], but a similar rate of return as DW. I don't quite get that as DW is also being loaded up with debt at circa 50% (exact amount not confirmed yet). But if it is then £1000 of DW would generate near 2000 kWh (on the same basis) and not the near 1000 kWh (in the share offer), so their comparison does not make sense. It also begs the question on what numbers are they going to use towards your annual usage ?, unless they are finally abandoning that limit.

Sailing a little close to the wind I think.

Thank Jebus, I'm maxxed out.

I'm not a fan of unnecessary debt and that 'baked in' phrase... in finance? F**k off. 8-)

Let the stupids flood in

I would have preferred more wind or at the risk of playing like a stuck record some hydro.

Looks like I won’t be offsetting and further power cost via Ripple anytime soon ☹️

I would not touch it with that level of debt.

I find Ripple Energy to be very opaque with their financial information. They were seeking to raise £42m for DW. They made it sound as if they raised what they needed for DW but I have never seen any announcement from them of the amount raised when the offer closed, although CityAM reported in August that they had raised £20m. Subsequently, we have learnt that they are having to borrow £14m from Virgin Bank.

All very fishy.

The £14m borrowing from Virgin Bank was to pay the rest of KH.

DW will be another circa £20m.

Where did you find the £20m figure for DW Nowty? Is that the balance to fund the build in the form of a loan? Before over run?

Mea culpa re £14m. Agreed it is for KH.

I assume that Nowty's £20m is more or less the difference between the planned amount per the offer document of £43m and the actual amount raised of approx £20 plus or minus some roundings etc.

All go to show Ripple Energy's lack of communication and transparency.
