It's a shame you can't put a ripple investment into an ISA.
Solar PV: 6.4kW solar PV (Eurener MEPV 400W*16)
PV Inverter: Solis 6kW inverter
Batteries: 14.4kWh LiFePO4 batteries (Pylontech US5000*3)
Battery Inverter: LuxPowertek 3600 ACS*2 battery inverter
WBS: 8kW Hunter Avalon 6 Multifuel burner (wood only)

No. You have it spot on.
Presumably having savings wrapped in ISA's then you have most or all of the allowance still available?
Yes, ISA's are exempt from your annual allowance.
Beyond that (40k) for a couple pa into isa's you will in all likelihood be paying tax on.investments.

It would be nice to be able to pick something closer to heart than a faceless 6 month or year bond. Regardless of the tax burden.

There was some press recently on ISA ceiling being raised. No idea if it will come to.anything?

Not what I hoped for, at least it is an answer.

'The 120% cap was set to ensure Ripple ownership was in line with the treatment of home solar, but it is also an important part of the co-op approval.

The co-op isn't an investment vehicle. We agreed with the FCA that members would not be able to purchase significantly more than they needed to meet their own needs. For example, if you could own 10x what you need that would be done as a financial investment, not to have your own source of green power.

We agree that the current treatment is unfair and we will continue to push for tax relief to be introduced. Therefore we plan maintain the cap at its current level to make a change possible in future.

We would clearly love for people to be able to own more, after all, that is how we secure our income! The wider context the co-op operates in is incredibly important to consider as well though.'

It does not make any sense when you compare the Ripple Coop’s to the many community energy Coop’s which have much higher investment limits of up to £100k. Even the relatively small school solar one I recently joined had a £30k limit on a £680k project.

The 120% Ripple limit on a typical average user is only about £2k or £3k.
16.9kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 25MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Although it does if it was a stipulation to get going with the fca. I can see why they wouldn't want to risk a change now. A big institution ponies up the debt balance and that cost is loaded onto the individuals who have already went through the investment door.

Not even a mention of a standalone SIV for later in the investment cycle.

A poor show. All hope is lost Nowty! :D

What we need is a clone to Ripple with its own 120% cap completely independent of Ripple's.

You mean 4 up, 4 to go!
Good news.
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!

Did anyone notice in todays email from Ripple ?, its another solar farm but its unlikely to be Project 4 as its likely several years down the track if it gets planning permission. Bifacial solar panels with battery storage too.

Eden Renewables & Ripple
Wiltshire-based solar developer Eden Renewables has submitted a planning application to Wiltshire Council for a proposed solar park on land east of Kington St. Michael, south of the M4 and adjacent to the A350. Eden are proposing that up to 20% of the project would be owned and operated by a co-operative set up by Ripple. If successful, Red Barn Solar Park will be the first in Wiltshire to offer local residents, and people more widely, the opportunity to own a share of the solar park and receive a discount on their electricity bills directly related to the energy generated by the project and energy prices. This project is in the very early planning stages. If you are local to the area and wish to lend your support to the application you can find out more details here,
