They would probably get enough stake holders in the first day of an offer for another wind turbine ?

There are obviously many suitable spots but Ripple only buy ready to go projects which are spade ready with all planning consents and grid connection offers.

Example the GF project started in 2015 and planning approval took till 2018. Ripple only came into being in 2017, it took the project on in 2019, raised the funding in 2020 and it went operational in 2022.

They would not get many takers if there was only a site identification with no planning permission, no grid offer and a tentative operational date some time between 2030 and 2035.

Putting it like that and I can appreciate how fortunate we were to buy in when we did.

Ref " Join our waiting list to be the first to hear about our next project and other news. It's the first step towards a greener, brighter future. "

Cant invest yet. ?

If your paying next to nothing apart from the standing charge. Is it worth doing. ?
Will it reduce the standing charge. ?

Yes as the rebate is simply a financial credit on your energy account and you can transfer positive balances back to your bank account. I took £1000 out earlier this year and my energy account will be back well over £1000 again when last month's rebate of £446 is credited in a few days time.

But currently there are no projects currently open to new investors, unless you previously registered for project 4.

Moxi wrote: Mon Jan 01, 2024 2:57 pm Thanks for the clarification Nowty, shame though, it isn’t generally going to be the case that a single or pair of turbines is taken through to build by many companies only to sell at that point is it ?

A company or coop developing and building small wind farms in the single to low tens numbers would probably be able to develop niche locations ignored by the larger wind farm builders.

I appreciate the risks are greater but it still feels like a lost opportunity?

Local energy community type coop's are likely to do the whole thing from start to finish with some help from a renewables contractor. But some commercial companies will just do the project up to the planning permission stage with an agreement with a landowner and then sell the project on at the right time. They have no interest in raising the capital required to build or operate the project.

Its similar to someone selling a piece of land with planning permission for a house.

Does anyone know of any other WT projects accessible to single investors? 🤔 Continuing to wait on this one for details...

Cheers AE, I've been musing about these odd figures appearing occasionally and wondering if the picture we see is simply a snapshot taken at the time, in this case, while hunting for the best wind direction, as checking on my dashboard it does state last updated at 13.50 while the actual time was 14.10 so some twenty minutes earlier. I summise that the next update may hopefully be showing it banging round at full chat. :xx:
