Germany has been doing an heroic job of very rapidly increasing gas storage and LNG imports, I believe. Not seen the latest numbers, but read an article a month or so ago about their LNG storage and import facilities, damned impressive to set so much up in such a relatively short space of time. Shows what can be done when there's a major crisis that forces countries to do things quickly.
25 off 250W Perlight solar panels, installed 2014, with a 6kW PowerOne inverter, about 6,000kWh/year generated
6 off Pylontech US3000C batteries, with a Sofar ME3000SP inverter

don't know if it is up and running yet though. https://www.offshore-energy.biz/germany ... -december/ says it would be useable from mid-december but I can't find any reference to it having been comissioned.

A little less import today as our Wind is returning, but we are still on the Coal and the OCGT which I suspect will run all winter. Nuclear is now all back at full power apart from Torness reactor 2 slightly down to conserve fuel.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Gridwatch posted 16.91GW this morning. That a stealth record potentially?

The average for this year is aready more than a GW above last year,s average even if we were to produce no more wind power.

The first (13MW) Dogger Bank turbines will start generating next year iirc. Just those (plus Sophia) will add the best part of 10GW to offshore wind capacity in the next few years. Records will keep tumbling, especially with 15MW units currently going through certification.

Here are the next tranche of offshore wind farms in construction and when they might be coming fully online by 2026 - it's a chunky pipeline for sure.

Seagreen phase 1 - 1000MW, mid 2023 (Vestas 10MW machines)
Dogger Bank A - 1200MW, late 2023 (GE Haliade 13MW machines)
Neart Na Gaoithe - 450MW, 2024 (Siemens 8MW machines)
Dogger Bank B - 1200MW, 2024 (GE Haliade 13MW machines)
Dogger Bank C - 1400MW, 2026 (GE Haliade 14MW)
Sofia - 1400MW, 2026 (Siemens 14MW machines)

At around 5 Gigawatts of power *potential* how does that fit with need (use) versus the population growth curve?
Basically how much does industry need to continue functioning post thatcher decimation? & proposed expansion?

(For example, a uk "giga" battery production facility ..as we move towards wider spread us e of clean & green people employing industry) ..yeah, I know the pre-existing one has been costly & effectively dumped.

And, point for reference, some neer do well will doubtless push public coffers for an Sarf / essex based hydrogen facility stating it to be purely green production, which will likely be grey or worse at point of production, ..so how much would industrial equivilents of current oil & gas "refineries" plus their mobile distribution networks need from that chunk of estimated production power?
