Quick look at the numbers shows that to buy enough to generate 2,900kWh per annum would cost:

compared with

Looks a fair price, but I am at my 120% limit, so I won't be investing

I've already put a reservation down, just got to decide how much to put in.
Annual consumption last year was 1400kWh, but the future will see an EV and hopefully a heat pump.

I see that evidence is only needed for 7000kWh and above, and you can increase by a standard 3000kWh for an EV, 4000kWh for a heat pump.

When I spoke with Ripple, they would only allow an increase if one could evidence the purchase of a heat pump. An intent to buy one when Government rules required it, was not sufficient. I already had the EV.

3,000kWh for an EV looks a fair estimate. I installed a meter on my EV charger nearly a year ago and I will have used about 3,100 when the anniversary comes up.

I think I’ll go for a similar amount as I did in DW as it is a better return.
It will take me over 7000 kWh but I used 20,000 kWh in 2023.
I wonder how they deal with exporting as I now probably use more but also export more.

Shhhh! What the eye doesn't see the heart won't grieve over!

I suspect that their target market is people who want to buy in to renewables without the budget or building to go it alone (and in a portable way, too) so those of us who subsequently get a pv roof aren't anywhere near the front of their minds.

What's better, £2,000 into this, or into 8 commercial panels on a suboptimal pergola connected to a battery stack via dc charge controllers? That's the scenario I'm looking at and I suspect that keeping the wife happy is the governing factor. It's probably the wind farm for me.

That means MCS install on the roof of the house and I doubt that would be cheap.

Winter generation is where I fall short and I think a wind farm will counteract that nicely.
It's just a case of how much to sink in...

Assuming (always deadly) that later is after the project investment Gates have initially closed? You can't. BUT sometimes you can re DW.

Being honest, I got into prog 1 thru 3 for platform speciality and regional variation. If you've got a little bit of solar it would seem reasonable to have a little WT too?
