Yes cos my winter shading is shocking, one of the advantages of a solar farm, its in the south, no shading and all facing due south. :xx:
Plus bi-facial for that little bit extra in cloudy bright conditions.

Very nice to have both windfarms doing well today.

Sun has been good here too, its going to be another of those combined treble number generating days for me, 103kWh already and everything is still turning or irradiating nicely.

I'm not sure how accurate the charts are on Octopus Watch but I always like to check out the regional (to me) generation mix compared to the national generation mix. Below was the charts for yesterday.

Image

Image
3.87kWp PV
10.24kWp PV SolarEdge system
Tesla Powerwall 2
100 x 47mm Navitron tubes (still being installed!) Now likely to be removed for more PV.
MK2 PV router DHW diverter
Morso 5kW WBS
Vaillant AroTherm 10kW ASHP
Nissan Leaf

Being the proud owner of a septic tank I'm well acquainted with the sights and smells having had to pump it out a couple of times and carry out work on both the inlet and outlet. :D

From the Ripple community forum regarding Kirk Hill,

First an issue with the comms,

"We are aware that comm's are out for Kirk Hill as of early this morning. Following an exercise to narrow down the potential reasons for this we have determined it's something that needs to be addressed on site. The team were unable to go to site this morning due to lightning but are there now."

Then, :?

"The issues on site have necessitated a High Voltage (HV) engineer to go to site to re-energise the wind farm."

I don't know whether it was that particular area of Scotland, but the national weather forecast commented on the exceptional amount of lightning strikes in storms up there in the last day or two - seems to be in Scottish papers, and on https://www.lightningmaps.org/#m=oss;t= ... ;dl=2;dc=0;.

Hopefully they'll get a local Drone survey contractors number for future events. Theoretical thought, a lot of manual climbing to find one with a lightning strike site on it. I remember they went through about a 1yr shake out on GF before it ran consistently outputting power. Comms still went offline too regular. Hopefully the lessons learned transfer over to the bigger site.

Update

"It's an issue with the grid, so the comm's themselves are ok, but no power being generated. I'll update as and when we hear more - we are chasing for a resolution!"

The fault potential site has just grown!
