I think we still needed around another 2GW for a record.

We need to hit the peak at around 18:00 on a weekday.
Thats around settlement period 36.

...Which might happen tomorrow as its forecast to be pretty windy in the afternoon and evening.

Guess who is booked on the morning ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway...... The afternoon one has already been cancelled due to the forecast.
At least my wife and kids might get an idea what the years I spent working on drillships & semis in the Atlantic were like.

Ref " At least my wife and kids might get an idea what the years I spent working on drillships & semis in the Atlantic were like. "

I used to work for Trinity House on light house ships. The first time on board. I remember asking. " In the kitchen on the gas cooker why is there a big metal frame all around the saucepans. " The chap said you will find out later. " There was also a very wide big leather strap / belt buckle across the middle of the bed. " I soon found out what that was for.

On a cross channel ferry. I remember the Ladies Mum asking. " Why do you have to step over that big metal bit to get into the toilet. "
I said " I am not sure. But its windy. We might find out Later. " It was to windy to dock. Welle Boots were required to use the Loo. "

Just saw 14.26GW covering 52.34% of demand. Excellent!

Safe travels Andy. There'll be clatterings in the galley today.

They’ve turned coal down but not off, so they don’t think the wind will last…
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

We have amber storm warning until 15.00 today,
and here, on top of that it is only predicted to go quiet until tomorrow (Sunday) evening, then getting blowy again for quite a while, >40mph in the night and again Tuesday day.
Good news for displacing gas, but with the low demand I'm a bit surprised that pumped hydro isn't recharging rather than delivering.
A
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!

Is pumped hydro literally water up to a reservoir at altitude while there is excess RE?
