Oh here we go again - another rooftop wind turbine that's meant to save the world. Only this time, it doesn't have any moving blades!
Colour me sceptical, but this is yet another chocolate teapot. Why do people continue to fall for this nonsense.

"...................easily installs on the edge of a building and can generate up to 50% more energy at the same cost as rooftop solar."
Thats a beauty, probably means it generates 50% more in the middle of the night.
But also reduces PV generation on the same roof because of the shadow it casts on the rest of the roof.
It gets my
"Solar Freakin Roadway" award.

But it does have moving blades - they’re inside the box the aerofoils sit on. I presume the air flow through the aerofoils creates a negative pressure, pulling air through the small turbine in the ‘box’.
As with the author, you’d hope that BASF’s interest gives it some credibility.

This statement from that article worries me:
The first thing I do when I come across innovations like this is look to see if there’s any commercial interest. If BASF is piloting this product, then that signals potential.
There are so many cases of investors, even reputable investors, getting scammed to invest in products that simply don't work as suggested, that I would state categorically that investor interest is the least reliable way to assess whether it works. What's needed is independent testing and evaluation, much as has been done by some here buying similar products and evaluating them.

My thoughts exactly, seeing as the brash yank was trying to gun down other renewables along the way he needs to give clarity to even vaguely be believed its not investment hyping bull.
This item, in reality is likely a mere "Turd de chocolat"
Note th nice flat foof? ..wonder what the weight of the unit is & the bracing alterations needed internally.
Go test em down tornado alley in St Louis area fella.
