Offshore turbines stopped for bird migration

Interesting - a pilot programme to slow/stop the turbines in an offshore wind farm during a bird migration event to reduce the risk of bird stikes.

Yup, sounds the right thing, wonder what tech is employed to get it close to right-ish, feel sorry for long range migrating bird with the additional weight of a tracker to it, but..

4 hrs is a very short window, hardly problematic I imagine, unless you blame shut down / slowing for all your associated energy woes (likely from some quarters)

Well done Holland.

Ripple Kirk Hill is doing a similar thing for bats.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated
6 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3
