This definitely isn’t a surprise Dan.There are a few phs projects more or less ready to go in scotland but SSE / SP etc won’t build them in current market.

Basically strategic infrastructure like this doesn’t get built unless government creates clear long term incentives. (Same with nukes, wind, etc - more or less any kit with high up front costs and low operating costs.)

... or government could just build the infrastructure itself, as it did for all the existing Phs. But that’s a taboo subject in energy circles.
