It's obviously a local scheme for local people!
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!

Re: Welsh tidal stream power project off Angelsey
It looks to me as if it is just a substation ready to take inputs from tidal generators.
Nothing about any generators being constructed to join up to it.
Or have I missed something?

Re: Welsh tidal stream power project off Angelsey
From what I understand its set up as a kind of test bed zone for tidal turbine manufacturers to come and site their equipment for testing or maybe small commercial operations etc.

Living in the area I can attest to the fact that the tidal races in this area are reliably strong so hopefully they will attract some turbines soon.

That should reliably reduce the carbon intensity in Moxi’land, but you’ll need to watch the tide tables as well as the weather forecast.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Re: Welsh tidal stream power project off Angelsey
We already have the tide tables on our phones as the boys love to go in to Caernarfon, Porthmadog and Barmouth to go crabbing, although for Caernarfon all we really need to do is look out the window to see the state of the tide.
It will be interesting to see how they get on and how much interest they have from tidal turbine companies.
