I'm interested to see the motivation!

If you write a load of seemingly-relevant text then provide a link to your own website, and do that all over the internet, google will think your website is relevant to that text and rank you higher for related searches.

But a link to a Wikipedia article does nothing!

Maybe they used that as cover, hoping we'd all have a discussion about "hydro turbines" making the page look super relevant to Google. Then once the discussion had faded they would come back and edit the link to their own website?

On the other hand maybe it doesn't make sense at all...
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

With the Q&A registration process in place it is just about zero. I experimented by changing it to the Captcha option for a couple of days just to see what would happen and the spurious registration requests immediately shot back up again within minutes of making the change. Spammers must have bots continually scanning for available registration options, and Captcha is no protection at all any more - it really does beggar belief.

From what i've heard, Captcha is really an AI training engine for image recognition and not a "are you a human" fake account check system at all?!
