you may as well tell the council they suck ass, cancel it, smash it up & take it down the tip yourself in small manageable pieces then.

£56 ? ..no man with a small van (down the pub) for £20 to take it to the dump "proper" & show a camera phone pic of it in place to confirm its not in a ditch.

If your council cannot come up with a working alternative when faced wit many weeks of "apparently" dumped white goods, they need to do better offering alternatives, like the council tipper vehicles with high sided mesh to deal with a variety of things to bang in the back (often lleylandii)
