Seems to be updated regards system modifications, with a few new phrases, like, "repowering" being introduced around efficency improvements.

Might be worth a skim through if planning changes (section 3)

interesting that , thanks resybaby. so in theory I can still get my full-fat FIT from 2011 by changing my 3.43kw 14 x 235w panels (2mppt of 8 and 6 )to 570W panels so that the bank of 6 would be the 3.43 and a separate inverter for the 8 in a new system for SEG with octopus without increasing total number of panels from 14

I assume that's what I'm reading - what's your take?

In effect that is exactly how i read it.
In fact, earlier today, i ordered 11 x 570 JA Panels to replace my current 21 x 190w FIT panels (using 7 of the new ones) to do exactly that! Panel Efficency up from 14% to 21%. I have earlier calcd that id gain approx a 20% yield increase for the 4kw system with the newer panel from monitoring my teo systems. Which with the FIT £ payments rising, would pay the panel costs back in no time at all.

3 of the extra panels ive bought are to add to my secondary synsynk system to max out that invertor (it can handle 7.2kw), as spare capacity left there.

And a spare one to play around with and connect via a microinverter on the log store roof to learn from/mess with.

This game is toooo addictive

Meant to add, that the 570's are much bigger sized panels than the originals, so best check theres space on the roof for them - i can just about sneak mine on.

And pray for a wind free day when doing it :xx:

I think Nowty poo it’s it you can upgrade your FIT system to your benefit and not affect payments, can’t remeber which thread he posted it, maybe worth being a sticky?

Hi Shirehorse
Yes, things have moved on a bit. Had the 21 original panels removed yesterday and replaced on the roof by 7 new bigger ones.
MCS registered installer says dont bother telling the powers that be, im still mulling that over as not sure thats the best course of action. But the physical deed is done.

might order some later on today - ive got 8 on the flat roof on a custom frame but the new ones are about 60cm wider so will have to put up new rails as well - I'm thinking of using the standard size 1700ish x 1100ish panels - any idea what the best value per watt on these. city plumbing seem cheapest
