Contura stoves any good?

#1

Post by CharlieB »

Hi all. I'm looking for an insert stove with double doors and the Contura i5 is the only one I've found so far. Does anyone know if Contura stoves are any good? https://www.contura.eu/en-gb/stove-coll ... -i5-_-3526

Or any other double-doored inset stoves?

(We had a fender-stool / child fireguard made for the fireplace a few years ago and really want to keep it if we can. A single door would swing out too far.)

Not sure if this is what you are looking for:

I have an avalon stove (not inset) and it's been fine; had one in my previous home and it did the job. Glass was easy to replace, not challenging to control with a bit of experience.

I'm looking for a landscape inset stove with two doors. Those hunter / Di Lusso ones all have one door, so it would swing out too far for the fender stool to stay in place.

It looks like this one’s being discontinued. Doesn’t hit eco design.

Has no one come across Contura?

We had a Contura 580 (free-standing, not built in) in a previous house. FWIW no problems with it.
