We are very lucky to have quite a few breeders, farmers and hobbyists around here giving us a wide range to go at.

Re: Small things matter
I'm running a few experiments at the moment. My house battery is charging to 75% in the cheap period, then I keep an eye out for the battery running out (810pm last night) and plug the car in. I don't have to notice immediately, for example last night I plugged in at 820pm and at 826pm was given the 8-830 slot as a cheap one!
I'm tempted to give "deep winter HP mode" a try, maybe closer to the bill being cut this month. This involves: telling Octopus I need the car ready for 830am, getting the house battery charged in the guaranteed cheap slot, setting the inverter not to discharge between 530am and 830am, and running the HP from 5am to 830am. The success of this hinges on how frequently I can be confident of getting the additional slots from 530-830am.
(I have a few strategies to help achieve this but don't want to put them on a public forum 'cos Octopus are bound to close the loopholes at some point, I don't want to hasten that.)

Re: Small things matter
The larger capacity battery stack makes a lot of tension depart. So much more latitude to do as you wish. If I come across a spare couple of grand I'd likely go again and end up about 40kWh storage.

Re: Small things matter
6hrs guaranteed cheap period changes the game too. By battery charges at 3.3kW(ish) so that means 13.2kWh when I was on Go with 4hrs. I could benefit from a smidge more than my current 12kWh battery but not much. Whereas 6hrs makes for 19.8kWh which would effortlessly cover my peak consumption.

Re: Small things matter
Nice one! We have the WBS running well, no gas.
Daughter arriving for a couple of days. Surprised at how well a 750W set heater can bring a bedroom up to temp. That bit closer now to SH's being charged though.
Is it a 40W tube heater?
