I can't praise the Einhell battery operated multi tool highly enough. It made the thread cutting on the set screw extra length an absolute doddle. Especially in the awkward back spots.

Very much becoming the tool I reach for. :D

He had a 4.5kWh PV gen day a couple ago. With a tiny income from there, Cutting the SC in half, going onto tracker, plus Kirkhill will be kicking in soon(ish). I am hoping he can join the £1 per month Octopus DD club later in the year. :D

I thought you’d be one of those “Agile in one house, IOG and OO in the other house with a shared battery” kind of operators!
I guess we are getting there, kind of. Asked on Monday, reply in today confirming our request details. Hopefully an appointment date through in next couple of days.

Got a reply back from Octopus, not sure why gender pronouns are being shoved at me? Like I give a s**t, just get the job done and be happy, eh? :hysteria:

After a few days of Octopus messing themselves up and thinking we were talking about my home (I had to point them to the email header twice which had No1's account No on it) we got to this.

"Hi Joe,

Apologies for the confusion.

I have now requested a job to change the current Economy 10 setup to a single meter. Please allow up to 4 weeks for our engineering service (OES) to contact you and book in an appointment for the installation.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.

Many thanks,

Josie K (she/her)"

That's good, we'll be able to drop down to one standing charge instead of two. I ran the figures for December which was max use for the year and he'd have saved about a tenner by being on Tracker and a single S/C. All other months he'll do better. :xx:

Once the smart meter is in we can begin to track his export volume from the Hoymiles PV and see if its worthwhile paying the £250 for flexi orb certification to achieve export payments. I have my doubts.

It strikes me as latest vogue narcissism.Pwrsonally I identify as a grumpy old man with poorly installed and also crumbling filters. :hysteria:

Anyone using standalone smartplugs that go to app without expensive control comms network box? Thinking ahead to get No1's storage heater on a timed app schedule?

I have several EVE plugs that do just that and the monitor the power consumed and display it in the app.

I bought a 4 pack from Amazon last year for £30 - Eightree is the make (but probably hundreds of identical versions from different brands) - control and timer & energy monitoring etc and goes through the SmartLife app, which is the same app I use for the Hoymiles PV monitoring
