Hey nowty, what was the scenario with a new exhaust? presumably that was a stubby & not so expensive when needing replacement, ...or BMW prices & a devil to fit amongst all the other kit? (any idea)?

NICE (& short) ..that, if published when in production would have calmed a lot of feverish brows, ..so cheap to replace then, not much material, great, wish id known that when I asked the question of BMW dealership spods when giving it a good look.

Interesting; the old air cooled VWs had heat exchangers in the exhaust to provide cabin heat, I suppose the ducting would make it difficult.

I forgot to ask can one see the engine run time? Does the engine modulate or run at constant power?

It does modulate but once your at about 55 mph its pretty much flat out. You still get full performance until the battery drops to about 2%, so if you need 70mph you need to engage it when you still have a higher amount of battery left, and not leave it until it kicks in AT 6% left.
We once got caught short and had to drive along at about 55 mph on the motorway / dual carriageway, but it was awkward with all the HGVs overtaking us.
