Tesla used to have adjustable levels of regen, but they removed it a while ago in a software update - can't say I could ever think of a reason to not just have it at max all the time?

There's an argument that unnecessary regen is inefficient, as there's always going to be losses in the system.
My understanding is that zero regen (i.e. coasting) is best when there's no requirement to reduce speed, with regen increasing only when vehicle speed needs to be regulated.

Personally I don't quite like the freewheeling feel with zero regen, but it makes sense.

I find excessive regen annoying. I like to be able to coast when the conditions allow.

Pop it into neutral in those instances? I do that sometimes, although with the dual motor set-up the rear motor is a permanent magnet machine so it'll still have magnetic flux causing a bit of resistance I guess.
