Deal / no deal (tesla series 2 charger)

https://shop.tesla.com/en_gb/product/ge ... -connector
Seems there has been a bit of a price drop recently?

2.5m connector cable = £299
7.5m " " =£349 (rrp £460)

Now yes, I am aware it isn't "smart" but that might suit some folk in the meantime doing stuff piecemeal
I seem to recall this being a bit of a dog though?
Can someone with knowledge talk me out of this please / impart some knowledge? (the wife is looking at it, last time she did this we ended up with the car)

cheers

I've heard they're crap!
  • Not smart.
  • No PEN fault detection. So you need to pay for and find space for an external PEN fault detector or have an earth-spike fitted.
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)
