Well Nowty, you are in for some treat. All other cars are now ruined for me!

Had the car for an hour, SWMBO had a go too and loved it. Doddle to drive, level of finish incredibly high. It certainly gets down the road quickly. I'm keeping this brief as I don't want to spoil anything for you. I am now waiting for the order book to open for the Y and i'll be in there and hoping to be in there quickly on day 1, preferably hour 1 if I get a mail in the night. Going to go red body, black interior and black wheels LR.

What a machine! :D 8-)

From the door handles to putting on the seatbelt it's different and for the better, that theme continues throughout. They have literally reinvented the car, Gobsmacked. This one was out of Shanghai and I couldn't find fault. SWMBO said it was like taking off in an aeroplane when I planted it. An absolute joy and a mile eater.

I can hardly wait !

Which after typing, reminded me that its the name of a 3 stooges episode that I watched many moons ago.

More of a Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton fan myself. Good to see though! I even went to the trouble of going onto the German Tesla site and speccing the Y, tick tock. ..

Can't wait to hear your thoughts once it's yours. SWMBO asked what I'm going to do for a car when 'our' one arrives. All the best to you Nowty!

I can’t believe how quickly you where converted into wanting an SUV!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

The reality is that there are not many EV load luggers out there and few look good without going to that baby 4x4 look After that and a quick filter through mind, grades of suvness in silhouette and with the 300+ mile range req it's a bit of a one pony show.

A particularly expensive, pretty and fast pony right enough. :)

Some day yesterday! Well impressed with how far Tesla have moved the game.

Watch the first bit of the video below and the guy explains that exact point. Because of the battery pack under the floor you need a higher (“crossover” shaped) car to have the same space inside. Many TM3 owners complain of a cramped feet-in-the-air driving position as a result.

(I really like this guy’s presenting style by the way, he’s done a lot of videos about fast-charging and long trips comparing various EVs.)

Just had a call from Tesla, I was thinking the worst like the car is still in a car park in Shanghai. But no, just a call to make sure I can still make the appointment next week and that I will bring my driving licence along. Apparently the car is either on shore or still to be offloaded from the ship, they have thousands of them to get off so I can image it takes some time.

Also told the car will have only 30% charge on collection, but if I don't want to go below 20%, I'm not going to have much of a drive on the collection day unless I drive direct to the Havant Supercharger and spend a tenner. :(

I was looking forward to booting it around the South Downs and having a pub lunch. :D
