New cruise ship for the scrap yard

Whilst there is chaos at the UK airports (any others experiencing the same degree of debacle abroad I wonder) a cruise ship at a German shipyard which has been sold to the naval arm of the German forces, cannot find a gamer for the hull, which belonged to a "gone belly up" cruise operator.

What does it say for the post covid recovery of the very polluting cruise industry!?

It does not necessarily mean the ship will be scrapped, just it will be sold on for the scrap price.

British forces can pee money away, the Germans may be the same, or, despite not actively using the berths & building there, may simply clean sweep any non essentials.

However media coverage is good for attracting potential buyers, such as a loaded oil sheikh to get some better than scrap prices out of it, someone willing to sit on it till things recover-ish.

Stick it on the Thames estuary as a temporary parliament building & stick a Wetherspoons on it, they'll never leave.

Not to mention the debacle over Scottish ferries which will be out of date before delivered. This is the future https://www.el-færgeprojekt.dk/nyheder/ ... at-results
