We have had a store with a charger that the wife couldn't get going with the official app for around 12 months in a small market town we know. (St Ives, not Cornwall)
Rocked up on Sunday free spaces on the dual charger, convinced wife to give it another go.
But this time use your Europe wide card , ...bingo! Thanks Chargemap
Pottered round, wife is slow & methodical spending the same time for 10 items as 40
This time having seen how it was steaming ahead (% wise) I strangely developed the rare virtue of patience, a likely 62 mins later & back at the car it had filled from 77% to 100% battery, I don't mind longer queues & less open tills if we can do that more often.
No idea if it drops speed from 2 connected, presumably so, would like to know what they use at their stores if anyone has the specs,?
Cheers

Re: Good (EV) charge in Aldi
Quite amusing as longer queues = more savings.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated
6 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 520 m3

Re: Good (EV) charge in Aldi
90 min waiting limit, parking eye, ..how many of us here have had to say "till queues were long" in order to avoid a ticket at a German supermarket.
If the glorious leaders tank the economy any further there may well be signal groups of local ev owners forming up a supermarket charging timetable guarding them by never letting more than one space be free at a time
Or is that just me
Serious question, do the chargers get turned off when aldi closes?
Just checked the app, it delivered 12+ kWh of juice in 62 mins, so give or take 1kWh every 5 mins, not a bad saving.

Re: Good (EV) charge in Aldi
Wife is getting into the habit of leaving the car at around 75-77% at the weekend in order to try & snag a place at the charge point, another 12 kWh fill yesterday, ..& our geek-like satisfaction at being not the only EV around, an ID3 (rejected by wife as her replacement ev when looking) & another Model 3 ..frankly gobsmacked.
Having not initially been able to connect to the shell recharge units for a few months (which dont have a constantly failing LCD display that killed the morrisons units) just a si gular rgb led & compact form on a post, they are working well, ..just waiting for a big toyota pick-up, or similar, to reverse into them & kill our fun.
looks like these units give a full 12 kWh singular, & 6kWh with two connected, can anyone confirm? ..trying to plan worst case scenario kWh draw for a bimble round the shop over +/- 45min stop.
