iD7

Post by Stinsy »

So yesterday VW launched the iD7 electric Passat/Aerton style saloon based on the MEB platform.

https://insideevs.com/news/628886/camou ... n-id7-ces/

I really like it. Very little info about specs has been released to-date, but some astonishing range figures have been quoted (435 miles). I'm not into SUV style vehicles. Might be tempted by the estate...
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

April is the latest promise!

Far worse than the delay is the repeatedly broken promises. If they'd said it'd take this long form the start I'd have been able to plan accordingly. However it has been a few months away for nearly 2 years!

My Sister has been going through a similar trial with a Fiat based camper van, it has been 3 months away for well over a year now. What they find most worrying is that the excuses seem to change over time, first it was a shortage of Micro-chips, then the pandemic, covid, etc etc.
Pretty shambolic really considering they have forked out a considerable deposit.

Good luck!

I do wonder about legacy auto being reluctant to build EVs because they make no or very little money on them??

Audi A6 is on the way as well. It's really good to see the legacy automakers start building actual electric cars rather than endless converted combustion SUVs!
