Electric Mini Convertible

Post by dan_b »

So BMW Mini has just launched a new version of their Mini-E - this one's a Convertible! Sounds great!
Except, look at that price tag- "FROM £52,500".
WHAT?!

I mean I thought the Honda-e was overpriced for a small, low-range BEV, but that, that is ridiculous!

Will that also have the deplorable 140 mile range?

Just to say 140 is OK, our IONIQ 28kWh has that range, and the base Leaf too, but for the high price of the Mini, and Honda e, and MX 30, it's just not right!

"Careful Now", "Down with this sort of thing"
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
20kWh Battery storage.

I did comment on the mini here when looking at at alt tesla offerinngs..

Non dedicated design (same rear seat floorpan problems as ice version)
Mileage just about on par with the leaf (2 years ago)
Upper echelon models with fripperies the tesla already had ..costly as sin.

Really 5h1t condescending sales guy who would only talk to me, not wife who we made clear was the buyer & driver.

It's got the drivetrain and battery pack from the quite old and now dead i3, slotted into the chassis of the Mini which they already make by the million, and yet they seem to think it's necessary to price it more than a 4 door saloon?!
