Tesla to retrofit round steering wheel

This did make me chuckle - after all the guff about the "Yoke" wheel being the only way to control the updated S/X - then Tesla quietly offered the Round wheel as a configuration option - now they're offering to retrofit a round wheel to existing yoke owners!

I don't think it solves the other control issue though - that of having removed the stalks meaning indicators and drive controls are on the wheel/ touchscreen respectively. Maybe that'll be offered as a retrofit soon too.

The CANOO, seems to get along quite well with a yoke, however that also has an offset screen, no idea if that is stalkless (hope not)

Getting rid of stalks does seem illogical where normal driving is concerned, however tesla wants rid of normal driving as part of its chase for the plaudit of "tech genius" whom all must follow, seemingly trying to deny human evolution where digits are concerned, some things just aren't meant to be.

Voice command response for instance is slow to process & hit / miss (for instance) not something we can rely on for timely activation / intervention compared to a digit movement that doesn't need to utter a pre-set command.

Firm grip on the wheel is just that, & helpful to have the basics that have come about for 60 odd years within that exended grasp.

There is a point when losing too many controls to screen / multi selector buttons just gets too much.
(You are at the mercy of all those tesla tweaks, moves, combines etc with little choice to "hold-em" ..unlike the drivers seat profile settings, ..again something that doesn't work properly on our car)
