Why compare EV tariffs with Uswitch?

Is there anyone that can give the pro's and cons for their present supplier
or have thoughts as to who might be best for a vehicle that only charges at 3 Kw .

Where are we going to be in 3 or 4 months time ?


Am I right in thinking that with a smart meter you can buy from one company and sell to another ?

Basic there is only Intelligent Octopus. Everyone else just pretends to have an EV tariff.

I was on Octopus Go and used to charge my Nissan Leaf during the 4 hour cheap period and it only charges at just over 3kW. You do need a compatible car or charger to get onto Intelligent Octopus.

I have never heard of what you suggest for your smart meter and doubt that option exists.

You do not have to accept a SEG export rate from the company you have an import contract with (ie a normal tariff), so a person could import from, say, Scottish Power, and export on SEG to Octopus.

I am looking to switch my export from SSE to Octopus now the smart meter is getting sorted.
How do you go about doing this? It does not seem like when you change energy supplier?

Look up Octopus Energy and then onto the tariff that you want and sign up through that. You can use a code from an existing customer and you both would get a £50 credit on your bills.
