EV's with 300+ mile range?

SWMBO & I have been having a look at various online examples of EV's. Hard to get an EV that will do 300 mile between charges. Looks like the Model 3 LR or the Ioniq 5 from Hyundai and even it is scraping the edge to get there. I had not realised the gap Tesla had in the range department. Any other models out there that get 300 to a charge? SWMBO detests the Polestar 2 and I see her point. :)

I'm not a fan of SUV/crossover type vehicles or would have maybe fancied going VW. Where's the 350 mile Golf? They've had plenty of time!

Id3 is 340miles IIRC!

However why do you need 300 miles?

100+kW chargers are much more common common than before and add something like 200 miles in half an hour. 30p a kWh might sting a little compared with 5-15p at home but is economically irrelevant if we're talking a few times a year.

Don't forget you're paying to haul around that big battery all year on the 99% or more of journeys less than 100 miles.

Edit to add some thinking: My parents live 180miles from me door-to-door. So 200 miles of real world range, in winter, with my foot down, after a few years of battery deg, was a requirement. So the iD4 with 316 miles "official" range worked for me, the one with 213 miles notsomuch. If I didn't have that specific use-case I'd go for an EV with a smaller battery but ensure it could be charged at 100kW or more and just do occasional longer trips in a few more hops.

I have to set a spec in my mind at that sort of money so the spec is Edinburgh and back on 1 charge to see daughter. :)

They come in 45,58, and 77kWh flavours. The 77kWh is rated for 340 miles.

That's weird, I can't see a 77kWh only 58kWh...

Cheers! Found it as the Pro S. On a straight run thru the site I couldn't find ...

Edit- Oh wait there is an arrow to scroll right...

I am quite surprised at how boring and pedestrian the overall choice is. The only cars that flick our combined switch so far are the Model 3, Id3 in the right colour and the Ioniq5 from Hyundai. Everything else is just so ICE or awfully high up full SUV. Not sure what I expected but it was more than this. Where's the bloody Jetson's car with art deco influences?

In retrospect, Tesla owns it on looks and actual attempt to move the game on. Wish they did an estate Model 3.

You have TWO sets of superchargers for Edinburgh.

Stick netflix on & watch the walking dead (or whatever) ..no biggie.

Please sir, to remind you the leaf doesn't do that either, how did you cope? (apply that strategy) ..cos you most certainly did look at the possibility when considering the last EV. (rationale Joe, rationale)

Go to Ikea for some meatballs & stuff the wife doesn't really need.
Or Costco, fill your boots on a hot dog, drink.

buzz up to your choice of supercharger, chomp n' charge.
Waiting for a charge top up in this car is no bad thing, however as a Scot I'll bring my own flavoured coffee in my Sigg hot n cold.

(though I'm a sucker for a Tim Hortons Vanilla coffee & a Kreuller duffnut, that's over the bridge right)?
