Stopped yesterday at Kinross services. Had a full bank of chargers to choose from. Hit 80kW during charging but 79p per kWh.

Just checked and Tesla open site at Eurocentral Motherwell is only 56p per kWh. Might stop there on payback from Cirque tonight at Ovo.

Is it just me or is 79p per kWh ridiculous? 🤔

Especially when you consider they might well have a cheap night rate for their energy purchases, before selling on at those fixed, extortionate price. But remember VAT at 20%.

Just chargers, no visible storage onsite. I'll stop at Tesla Dundee tomorrow or see if the new HUGE charging station at Asda Dundee roundabout is live yet 🤔

It's cheaper to drive my pickup long distance than the electric car these days. Its certainly not helping public perception.

Public charging prices are ridiculous.
Where is the incentive for drivers who cannot charge at home for various reason, although y]the majority of those would be in London and they have ULEZ.

This overinflated charging cost is the reason we retain our diesel.
Most of our driving is upto Midlands to see family, and quite regularly done, so i need to be able to do circa 500 miles in total (250 each way) from Cornwall. Just cant do that in an EV, without being ripped off to recharge on the way.
Parents dont have (nor want as they dont think they will see a payback at their age) solar and i feel its beyond cheeky to pop in to say 'hi can i plug my car in and run your leccy bill up' when visiting, so has to be diesel for me, unfortunately.

Government stressing how to make revenue from drivers, they wouldn’t drop the VAT in the budget because in future they plan for that to be the new fuel duty. It’s one of government’s biggest cash cows and they won’t want to lose it.
