They've got to move soon or be completely left behind - adapt or die?

Interested to see what would emerge. I really like the Japanese domestic cars we could see when there. Hopefully the European market is ready for some more quirkiness.

Toyota got a huge march on everyone with the Prius, then went back to making ICEVs.
Nissan moved next with the LEAF, then went back to making ICEVs.

They had the opportunity to smash this market while US and European manufacturers slept. But they abandoned their huge lead and now they're in huge trouble...

Wifey and I have decided it's time to replace the 2018 (28kWh) IONIQ. So we are getting a pre-reg 74 plate 40kWh Leaf, and giving the IONIQ to my sister who wants to get on the BEV train.

I'm a tad nervous, given that many seem to be giving Nissan 18months to adapt or die, but at ~£17k, thought it worth a punt.

Why are you buying a LEAF? I know there are some ridiculous deals on offer, but that's because they're selling 1st gen EVs in world where 2nd gen have been established for years.

There are loads of nearly-new: Pug e-2008, Renault Megane EV, MG ZS, Vaxhaul Corsa-e, and other models in your price range that are way better than the LEAF!

Well this is weird - in the US, Honda has released an EV and its selling by the bucket-load.

Apparently under the skin it's a GM platform, but even so, don't they want to sell this anywhere else?
