SWMBO ordered hers today - the full fat version in black with a red roof.
Tried to persuade her to go for yellow but she wouldn't have it.

I’m not into the retro revival new mini, fiat 500, et al. However the 5 loos really cool and it is nice to have a non SUV BEV.

Had a good look at one a few onths ago at the Everything Electric show, and then went to a Renault dealer in early Dec to see one with Wifey, but the said they wouldn't be in till Feb/Mch. I really like the looks, but I think I'm biased as I was one of the many that wanted a R5 GT Turbo back in the 80's, but couldn't afford the insurance.
Bit petty I know, but I'm not happy that the base model has no DC charging, nor the option for it. So you have to go up a model (but the same battery), to get 55kW charging. I think it's 75kW on the top model with the bigger batt. Seems like petty cheapness, or upselling to me, but Renault do, do this on several models at the base level.

The 5 turbo was a great car.
Hot hatches in the 80s were fab. So many to chose from.
I had a 205 GTI (1.6 unfortunately) absolutely brilliant car and an Astra GTE 16v( shockingly bad car)

I was so disappointed, I took a SH one for a test drive and loved it, but the insurance was ~£1,500, and that was late 80's. So I got a V8 Trans-Am instead, and insurance was about £500. Would have been ~£200 with classic car insurance, under my Dad's name, but all drivers had to be over 25.
Gone full circle now, and eyeing up the Dodge Charger BEV, but it aint coming to these shores.

My Wife likes the look of the Mustang BEV and if we ever won the loyttery I think she would be down to the dealers before I could say what about ........

Plenty of BEVs will never be rapid charged. So paying for all the kit on one of those is a waste.
However on the other side, cars such as the eGolf are designed to be short-range local runabout/commuting cars, but because they have rapid charging they can do longer journeys just with lots of short hops.
