This got me thinking - could these CTVs charge-up when they get to the offshore wind farms before they head back to shore? Plug them into a charge-point on some of the turbines?!

Re: Electric offshore crew transfer ships
It does say
"To help further accelerate this transition, the company is also spearheading a landmark diesel-to-electric retrofit project, (e-Ginny) funded by Innovate UK and the UK Department of Transport, proving that existing diesel CTVs can be converted to 100% electric power and recharged offshore."
So if the converted ones can be charged offshore surely the new ones should be - though it does not say how

Does say offshore WT-based charger.

Would love to see that charger on Zap Map!

Re: Electric offshore crew transfer ships
I wouldn't like to be the individual pushing the plug in... Given a relatively small boat bobbing around a static tower I doubt it could carry a robot arm big enough to cope with the potential swell! Helsingor and Helsingborg harbours will be a very different kettle of fish
I was wondering how many of the WTs actually had suitable voltage power socket at docking height, and how it would be protected from salt spray etc.?
