Looks like Brighton is going all-in on public EV charging.

That's a huge investment, £130m. Could be a little naive if they imagine Joe public coughing up 39p/kWh when alternatives are available at only 7p.

The comparison is with home charging! Those lucky (hardworking) enough to have a private driveway buy the fuel for their car at 7p/kWh while people who live in flats pay 39p. Hardly seems fair.

The comparison is with home charging! Those lucky (hardworking) enough to have a private driveway buy the fuel for their car at 7p/kWh while people who live in flats pay 39p. Hardly seems fair.
Our neighbour is having a gulley fitted into the pavement in front of his house so allowing him to run a cable through to charge with. No idea what the upfront cost is.

Definitely less than nearly £22k! Maybe they are expecting visitors, to the town, to be charging up throughout the day?

That is a decent solution. Relies on your neighbour being able to reliably park directly next to the gully though.

Yes, indeed. However, as he uses ours via CoCharger presently I don't think I'll be turning him away in future should the need arise.
